The diocese will provide live streaming of Holy Thursday Mass, Good Friday liturgy, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Mass. To access, visit www.ptdiocese.org/livestreammass. Additional spiritual resources will be offered on the diocesan website during this holy season of the liturgical year.
Spiritual communion. When unable to attend Mass, we encourage you to make make an act of “spiritual communion,” especially on Sundays. Saint Thomas Aquinas defined spiritual communion as “an ardent desire to receive Jesus in the Holy Sacrament and a loving embrace as though we had already received Him.”
Churches will suspend all public Sunday and weekday Masses beginning noon Friday, March 20, 2020, until further notice. Bishop William A. Wack, CSC dispenses Catholics from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass while this suspension remains in effect. All other regularly scheduled liturgies and gatherings in churches will be canceled as well. At this time, churches will be open for private prayer and devotion at the pastor’s discretion.
