  About the Program
  In our diocese, the Sacrament of Confirmation is normally celebrated with youth of high school age in the 9th grade (or above).
   

  A candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Be baptized in the Catholic faith and not previously confirmed (proof of baptism must be obtained)
  • Be capable of renewing their baptismal promises
  • Must be properly instructed

  Sponsors:

  • Must be an active participant in the preparation and formation of the candidate - will complete four Sponsor/Student faith sharing sessions together
  • Must be at least 16 years old, “fully initiated” in the faith and more mature and knowledgeable in the faith than the Candidate
  • Must be an active practicing Catholic and in "good standing" at their local parish
  • Can not be the Mother or Father of the Candidate
